If you are in need of arborist services, there are several different types of arborist companies you can choose from. These companies generally offer many of the same services, such as tree removal and tree trimming, however they specialize in certain areas. For example, some arborists specialize in just trees while others offer services for shrubbery, grasses, gardens, private residences, commercial development, or a variety of other landscape structures. When choosing an arborist, it is important that you determine the type of work that needs to be performed so that you can find the right arborist.
Arborist Services. A fully licensed, state-certified arborist is an arborist who practices in all 50 states. The majority of arborists have at least a master’s degree in arborogy, and most specialize within a specific method of arborism. Full licensed arborists are also highly skilled gardeners, providing a wealth of knowledge about plant species, shrubbery, trees, flowers, lawns, and more. Arborists use various methods, including stump removal, hand pruning, cable installing, tree thinning, crown shaped, bark shredding, and more. Some also specialize in landscape architecture and tree care.
Trees. Many people hire arborists to trim trees that are out of service due to growth conditions, tree disease, or insects. Some people even hire an arborist to repair or replace limbs that have become diseased, cracked, or have splinters due to winter weather. Some arborists also specialize in tree removal or deadheading. If you are interested in deadheading trees in your yard, you will need to do research on each type of stump in order to determine the best approach to remove it safely and effectively. Some arborists are great at one type of activity and not another, so make sure you ask questions and find out what their specialty is.
Tree Care. Arborists who have achieved a specific certification are responsible for improving the health of our largest living organism, trees. They inspect trees on a yearly basis and provide advice and education on tree care practices that ensure our environment stays healthy. Certified arborists must demonstrate knowledge and skill in a variety of tree care practices. For example, some certified arborists may perform a complete inspection, including pruning, assessing conditions, determining how much growth is left in the tree, removing dead and decaying limbs, removing diseased leaves, removing pests, repairing damage, etc…
Tree Removal/asion. Many times people get rid of unwanted tree growth without the proper procedures. In arborists, there is a great job satisfaction in being able to remove problematic trees without invasive methods that can be harmful to the surrounding environment. They know how to cut down unhealthy trees and properly remove them for minimal impact on surrounding landscapes.
Landscaping/Planting/EDI. One of the greatest tasks of an arborist is to plant trees, shrubs or other woody plants that will improve the aesthetics of your property. A certified arborist will know which types of trees are best suited for your area, where they should be planted, what spacing and root systems they should have, what tree diseases they should watch for, how much fertilizer or water should be applied, how you should maintain your trees after they have been planted, etc… They are trained professionals who are able to help you design an arborist planting plan that will maximize the health of your trees and shrubs while providing beauty around your home. They can also help you choose specific shrubs or trees depending on your climate and landscape needs.
